CyberHawks Fledglings is our highschool outreach program.

Fledglings CTF

The University of North Georgia is hosting a beginner friendly Capture the Flag for teams of highschool students.

When:

  • November 21st
  • Time is still under development: Expect 8-10 hours

Where:

Who:

  • Any highschooler is eligible to participate
  • This is also a great opportunity for highschool faculty to network with UNG and develop their cyber programs
  • Teams can range from 1 to 4 people (full teams of 4 are preferred)

What:

  • Challenge categories will include OSINT, Reverse Engineering, Password Cracking, Forensics, and potentially a Full PWN machine
  • The event will be hosted on CTFD

Required Hardware:

  • Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops with Kali Linux Virtual Machines
  • There will be one NETLAB VM allocated per team that students can connect to with their chromebooks if they do not have laptops available
  • Please reach out if you are concerned about hardware being your limitation for competing

  • Coach Clarification:
    • Each team will be expected to provide a faculty member to serve as a coach for this event
    • Teams from the same institution may use the same coach
    • Parents are acceptable as coaches if no faculty member is available
    • The purpose of this is to strengthen ties with Georgia highschools moving forward
